Our facility in Sint-Oedenrode is a specialized and approved CATT treatment site. CATT, short for Controlled Atmosphere Temperature Treatment, is an environmentally friendly treatment method against plant pests.
The plants are exposed to a combination of different temperatures, air compositions and levels of humidity during this treatment. This treatment, which we use for our cold storage, is also used as a quarantine treatment for imports and exports.
Our Veghel facility has obtained a BREEAM “outstanding” qualification. This is the highest attainable certificate for sustainably built environments. In fact, it means that our building has been declared the most sustainable building in the Netherlands. This is proof that we at Van Acht Logistics practices sustainable business, also when it comes to our cold storage and freezer storage.
Van Acht Logistics has been granted authorization by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality as a phytosanitary inspection location for import and export inspections. The Quality Control Bureau conducts these inspections under the supervision of the Ministry and can, if desired, issue phytosanitary documents and certificates.
Van Acht Logistics holds a Customs Warehouse C-license. This (economic) customs arrangement allows us to store goods coming from outside the EU, whose final destination has not yet been determined, without paying import duties during chilled storage. We apply this form of cold storage and freezer storage several hundred times a year. This makes us an independent customs agency that can handle the import and export clearance of goods, including applying for EUR certificates and Certificates of Origin at the Chamber of Commerce.
